Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyzes incoming wheat from barges using physical conditions and intrinsic value measurements to guarantee conformity to the parameters as prescribed by the Company’s standards
• Monitors in-process control points and finished products of soft and hard flours and special flours as prescribed by the Company’s standards
• Obtains and preserves samples until analysis is complete
• Assesses rheological properties of the flour and performs baking tests as final assessment of the finality of the flour released
• Maintains inventory of all laboratory standards, reagents or solutions
• Ensure that Laboratory Equipments is calibrated, maintained and is functioning properly
• Assists in the training of newly hired laboratory personnel
• Records and accomplishes laboratory forms accurately, which forms are used by the mill as a guide to effect efficiency in the mill
• As authorized by the Dept. Head provides the mill department with pertinent data in relation to maintaining quality standards
• Weighs and mixes flour improvers formulated by the Dept. Head to be provided to the mil and monitors each flour improver’s rate
• Assesses rejection and release of wheat and flour based on its specifications and accomplishes forms to be issued to the concerned personnel particularly the head miller, supervisor and warehouse supervisor

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of BS Chemistry or BS Food Technology
• Licensed Chemist or Registered Chemical Technician, preferred
• Knowledge and skills in the use of standard laboratory apparatus and equipment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Data analysis and computation skills
• Knowledgeable in cGMP, HACCP , 5’s and Materials Inventory
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Flexible, Pro-Active, a Self-Starter, has a Good Sense of Urgency & Commitment to get the Job Done, Keen in Details
• 3 years experience in the food manufacturing or related industry
