ICP Board Election 2025: Call for Nominations

The term of office of three members of the ICP Board of Directors expires on 30 June 2025.  Nominations are invited for the election of the ICP Board members who will hold office starting 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2028.

Three board members—one representative each from the industry, government, and academe are to be elected. Only active REGULAR members of the ICP (chemists) may nominate and be nominated.

The elected members of the board are expected to regularly attend the meetings of the ICP and actively participate in activities geared towards achieving the objectives of the ICP as follows:

  1. Support the implementation of the Chemistry Profession Act and the Code of Ethics for chemists and safeguard the professional interests of the registered chemists.
  2. Make the chemistry professionals (both chemists and chemical technicians) conscious of their serious responsibilities in helping the country develop.
  3. Provide a forum to exchange ideas on the chemistry profession.
  4. Cultivate discipline among the members, develop the spirit of camaraderie, and maintain occupational standards.
  5. Encourage and foster chemical education.
  6. Develop a continuing program of activities leading towards upgrading of standards, such as accreditation of laboratories and professional competencies.

Eligibility

  • Only active Regular Members in good standing may nominate, be nominated, and vote.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted.
  • The ICP Membership Committee will verify the status of all nominators, nominees, and voters.

Nomination Process

  • The ICP Election Committee (COMELEC) will contact nominees using the email provided by the nominator.
  • To be considered an official candidate, nominees must:
    • Accept the nomination via email on or before the deadline.
    • Submit a CV using the ICP COMELEC-prescribed format (see link below).

Timeline

  • Nomination Period: 07-20 June 2025
  • Deadline for Nomination: 20 Jun 2025 12:00 PM
  • Posting of Official Nominees: 23 Jun 2025
  • Election Period: 23 Jun-04 Jul 2025
  • Deadline for Voting: 4 Jul 2025 12:00 PM
  • Release of Results: 7 Jul 2025

Term of Office

  • Elected officers will serve a term of three (3) years: 2025–2028.

Guidelines

  1. Only active REGULAR members of the ICP in good standing can be nominated, submit a nomination, and vote. Self-nomination will not be accepted. The ICP Membership Committee shall confirm the status of nominators, nominees, and voters.
  2. Incumbent ICP Chapter or Cluster officers may be nominated, provided that if they are declared winners, they are considered automatically resigned from their position within the Chapter or Cluster.
  3. The ICP Election Committee will contact the nominee, nominator, and qualified voters through their ICP registered email address.
  4. The complete nomination form must be submitted by email on or before 20 Jun 2025 12:00 PM. The nominee should submit his/her CV using the ICP COMELEC prescribed format.
  5. The official list of newly elected Board members will be posted on the ICP website (https://www.icp.org.ph/) on 7 July 2025.
  6. The winning candidate from each sector will hold office for a term of 3 years (1 Jul 2025-30 Jul 2028).
  7. The ICP Elections Committee (ICP COMELEC) for 2025 is made up of the following: Dr. Glenn Alea (Chair), and Atty. PCOL Albert S. Arturo, and Ms. Priscilla Alice Samonte (Members).
