Job Title: Registered Chemist

Type of Employment: Full-time

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the quality of the products.
2. Product development.
3. Conduct testing of raw materials and other materials in soap making.
4. Ensures that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
5. Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods and retention samples.
6. Completes documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, inspection and testing logbooks or inventory forms.
7. Interprets test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on the appropriateness of data of release
8. Receives and inspects raw and packaging materials.
9. Resolve any arising quality related problems or product complaints.
10. Help maintain all activities in an inspection-ready status ahead of any internal or external audits to ensure successful inspections
11. To ensure compliance to cGMP, FDA, Halal, HSE, and other regulatory requirements.

Job Qualifications:

-Graduate of BS Chemistry, BS Pharmacy or BS Chemical Technology (PRC license required)
-1 year experience in Manufacturing Services
-Open for fresh graduates.
-Ability to work in a team, work under pressure, and works cooperatively and well with others.
-Flexible
-Analytical mind, diligent in work.
-Honest, safety-oriented, has initiative and does not need to be supervised.
-Positive in training and supervision.
-Takes the lead in suggesting improvements.
-Must be willing to work in a flexible time arrangement.

Monthly Salary Range: PHP 15,001 to PHP 20,000

Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Laboratory Analyst is responsible in performing different test analysis of in-process, process chemicals sample. Prepares and reports test results of in-process samples and calibrates AAS unit for in-process assaying, and other auxiliary equipment such as pH, conductivity meter and balances.

Job Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s/College Degree in Chemistry
• Must be Licensed or Registered Chemist
• At least one (1) year of experience as Laboratory Analyst or in Quality Assurance
• Working knowledge in ISO 17025:2017 is an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of standard In-organic Laboratory procedures, techniques and safety practices is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in operation of simple to complex laboratory equipment.
• Microsoft Office proficient.
• Excellent Communications Skills

Outstanding Chemist of 2021: Call for Nominations

Every year, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) honors the outstanding professional from each profession. We would like to invite active ICP members to nominate individuals for the honor of Outstanding Chemist of 2021.

The criteria for selection include the following:
1. Professional Competence and Integrity in the exercise of the Chemistry profession
2. Meaningful participation in professional activities through the professional organization
3. Significant contributions to the advancement of the Chemistry profession
4. Evidence of social responsibility through meaningful social activities

The Outstanding Chemist can come from government, industry or academe. The evidence for outstanding performance will depend on the sector where the nominee comes from. The nominees have to be evaluated and endorsed by ICP. The deadline for submission to ICP is on April 6 (Tuesday).

Report Individuals, Groups, Companies That Avoid Complying with the Chemistry Profession Act

The Professional Regulatory Board of Chemistry (BOC) has recently opened a means for the public to report individuals, groups, or companies that continuously violate and purposely avoid complying with the Chemistry Profession Act.

Examples of such violations include, but are not limited to, the following: absence of or expired Certificate of Authority to Operate a chemical laboratory, non-hiring of registered chemistry professionals, non-issuance of hazard pay to its registered chemistry professionals, and others.

The public is hereby advised to send a report (together with sufficient evidence) to the following email addresses: prbsec.chemistry1@gmail.com or prb_chemistry@prc.gov.ph. For any legal actions to proceed, it is crucial that the informant disclose his/her identity when submitting a report. Rest assured that the BOC will never reveal the informant’s identity.
