Job Responsibilities:

  1. JOB SUMMARY
    The position’s primary responsibility is to conduct quality assurance tests and inspection of all raw materials and finished products and ensure that these comply with set quality standards and specifications.

    The position holder is also responsible in monitoring the proper use and maintenance of all safety and pollution control facilities in accordance with government standards and requirement.
  2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Pollution Control
      1. Review existing safety and pollution control facilities in Pigmentex, Inc., and recommend needed actions to upgrade them.
      2. Assist in the installation of safety and pollution control devices and policies and ensure that these are in accordance with government standards and regulations.
      3. Monitor the proper use and maintenance of all safety and pollution control facilities in accordance with government standards and requirement.
      4. Assist in securing appropriate government licenses for safety and pollution control as well as ensure renewal on time.
    2. Quality Assurance
      1. Ensure the integrity of raw materials as they are used in the production processes, the batches as they come out of cooking and the finished goods prior to shipment. Assist, analyze, evaluate production cooks especially during trial and first runs of new or modified products.
      2. Evaluate present procedures utilized in the checking of raw materials, work-in progress, and finished goods to determine if they meet acceptable standards.
      3. Analyze and evaluate “To Be Blended”, or “TBB’s” and recommend actions to be taken. Ensure zero-waste in the application of TBBS.
      4. Determine the mechanics of testing present problems of raw material suppliers, production systems and customers. Analyze bottlenecks and recommend new mechanics to ensure that expectations of suppliers, customers and production are met.
      5. Maintain confidentiality of Technical documents such as formulations, production procedures at all times. Reproduction of copies shall only be with the approval of the General Manager.
      6. Review all standard procedures at least once a year and recommend changes as needed.

Job Qualifications:

    1. Must be at least a BS Chemistry graduate.
    2. Must be computer literate.
    3. Analytical, flexible and results oriented.
    4. Must be systematic, receptive, keen on details, creative and trustworthy.
    5. Must have no allergies to chemicals.
  2. Desirable Competencies
    1. Preferably a licensed Chemist.
    2. With adequate knowledge in industrial safety, pollution control and environmental restrictions.
    3. Must have at least 1 year work experience in similar line of work in a resin manufacturing company.
    4. Hardworking and thorough.
    5. With good oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

The position includes:
Preparation and analyses of samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to Mach Union’s analytical SOPs. Works independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets, ensuring hold times and turnaround times are met.

  1. Confers with the Section Head and Supervising Chemist regarding the procedures and techniques to be followed in conducting tests
  2. Prepares reagents, standard and control solutions needed in the analyses
  3. Logs all reagent preparations done for the traceability of chemicals and standards utilized
  4. Calibrates and operates laboratory equipment and instrument
  5. Checks the parameters to be analyzed and records date and time of analysis
  6. Performs chemical tests and procedures using standard or laboratory-developed methods
  7. Ensures that all test results are documented through the use of log books, laboratory data sheets and printouts and properly endorses to the Chemists and Supervising Chemist for check and review, respectively, when tests are completed
  8. Uploads data obtained from laboratory testing through the LIMS Matrix System
  9. Adheres to quality control and quality assurance protocols to ensure the integrity of test results and safety of the work environment
  10. Monitors stocks and assists in purchasing laboratory supplies and materials
  11. Develops and validates in-house methods of analysis or modified methods to analyze complex matrices or to validate methods for which there are no applicable standard procedures.
  12. Responsible in the research test method verification and validation procedures
  13. Implements and performs Instrument Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ) validations, stability studies, methods validations and method verification
  14. Ensures that the routine and preventive maintenance program, intermediate checks and verification activities are implemented
  15. Initiates the request for revisions and generation of documents based on requirements of standard methods and other sources
  16. Responsible in the identification, documentation and control of nonconforming works including technical and administrative nonconformance related to testing (i.e. equipment breakdown, customer complaints, etc.)
  17. Canvasses and negotiates new laboratory supplies, equipment and chemicals necessary and applicable in the different testing
  18. Reports newly acquired equipment for updating of master list and issuance of equipment ID to immediate supervisor and Quality Assurance Department
  19. Monitors sample preservation in relation to testing, retention and disposal
  20. Maintains laboratory instruments and scientific equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications to ensure the accuracy of test results and safety of equipment
  21. Maintains the workplace safety and safe materials handling as appropriate.
  22. Establishes priorities for the completion of work in accordance with sound time-management methodology
  23. Supervises Laboratory Aides
  24. Collects and properly labels hazardous wastes generated
  25. Handles, investigates and controls complaints whenever a related issue arises in coordination with the QA Manager
  26. Identifies, assesses and evaluates risks and opportunities as process owner
  27. Maintains and updates risk registries to assess effectiveness of action plans
  28. Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities
